How to Do Close-Grip Pullups

The overhand close grip pull-up is the ultimate upper body exercise to build a lean, sculpted upper-body. It is a three-in-one exercise that works your biceps, shoulders, upper back, and core.

How to Perform a Close-Grip Pullup

  1. Grab a chinup bar with an overhand grip (both hands facing forward). 
  2. Squeeze your abs as tight, pull your body until your chin clears the bar. Pull your shoulder blades back and squeeze them together. Pause, then lower yourself back to the starting position. Continue for he prescribed number of repetitions.
