How to Do Close-Grip Pullups Correctly

The overhand close-grip pull-up is the ultimate upper body exercise to build a lean, sculpted upper-body. It is a three-in-one exercise that works your biceps, shoulders, upper back, and core.

Just like pushups and squats, pull-ups are bodyweight exercise and they can do just about anywere with a pullup bar.

You can easily combine close grip pullups with other bodyweight exercises to create a bodyweight circuit workout that burn fat and develop lean muscle tones.

Close grip pullups target your lats, biceps and just about every major muscle in your upperbody.

How to Perform a Close-Grip Pullup

  1. Grab a chinup bar with an overhand grip (both hands facing forward). 
  2. Squeeze your abs as tight, pull your body until your chin clears the bar. Pull your shoulder blades back and squeeze them together. Pause, then lower yourself back to the starting position. Continue for he prescribed number of repetitions.
